East Devon & Dorset combines gorgeous landscapes
with a myriad of activities

Smallicombe Farm is in East Devon’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, noted for its rolling hills, woodland, rivers, rural farms and villages and stunning South Devon coastline. All this is on our doorstep. Explore the flora and fauna in the countryside, or fossils, harbours and gorgeous beaches along the Jurassic Coast. Close by is Exeter, Lyme Regis, Axminster and Ottery St. Mary. Honiton is next door, a lovely market town famous for lace, pottery and glove making. Local food can be enjoyed at a wide selection of pubs and restaurant, or bought from local farm shops or Smallicombe produce from the farm. Activities in the area range from historic houses and gardens, museums, the Donkey Sanctuary, model trains and tram rides to the high octane thrills of Crealy Adventure Park and a Go Ape vertigo tree-top walk.

Devon is steeped in history so when you are staying with us we recommend that you visit some of our amazing local attractions, quaint fishing villages, bustling market towns, beaches, moors and stunning Devon Countryside. All of which are in easy reach from Smallicombe Farm. You will find ancient monuments, historic houses, National Trust properties and fascinating museums to hold your attention on a family day out. If old fashioned transport is your thing, then why not a trip on an electric tram, visit the South Devon steam railway or take a ride on a model railway at Pecorama.

In Devon, we are fortunate to have access to a multitude of activities to fill your time whilst you are on holiday. From coastal and moor walking to water sports or bike riding, Devon can offer it all. Why not try a spot of sea fishing and BBQ your catch on a local beach or give wild sea swimming a go. Both young and old will enjoy following in Mary Anning’s footsteps and hunting for an ammonite or belemnites on a local beach – taking a guided fossil hunting walk is a great way to guarantee a find.

The problem with our part of Devon is not where to eat, but if you have enough time to eat in all the places you might want to. We are spoilt for choice with amazing eateries using local produce to create incredible menus. From Michelin Star restaurants to the humble chippy, East Devon has it all.
