Smallicombe Farm produce high-quality woollen products including scarves, throws, knitted hats and sheep skin rugs.
The scarves and throws are woven by Curlew Weavers, a small artisan mill in Rhydlewis, Wales – from the raw wool of our Smallicombe flock and a small percentage of alpaca wool from a neighbouring farm. Products are designed to show the best attributes of the two wools; the natural cream of Dorset Down and various shades of Jacob wool.
Our Dorset Down wool is also spun to produce individual balls of double-knit wool at The Natural Fibre Company located in Launceston, Cornwall.
When we send our lambs for meat, we arrange for the lamb skin to be sent to Devonia, Buckfastleigh, Devon. Devonia is Britain’s oldest established sheepskin tannery and still employs traditional processing techniques.
